Sold at auction yesterday for £3,600- a rose picked by a soldier on the western front during the First World War . The Rose was sent by the soldier to his wife to commemorate the death of their daughter. The rose was sent along with a poem on a postcard, which survived along with other documents sent. The rose was auctioned by Hansons in their "The Great War" sale.
