Lot 733: Boer War & WWI. A casualty group to Private M. Leonard, Gloucestershire Regiment Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, three clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1902 (5900 Pte M. Leonard. Glouc: Regt), British War and Victory Medals (31492 Pte. M. Leonard. Glouc. R.), edge bruise to first, very fine, extremely fine with Bronze Memorial Plaque (Maurice Leonard), presented in a modern glazed frame, with copied research. 31492 Private Maurice Leonard (1882-1917), born in Sharpness, Berkeley, Gloucestershire, enlisted in Bristol served during the Boer War with 2nd Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment (5900), re-engaged for service during WWI with the regiment at Wotton-Under-Edge, died 3.12.1917, Leonard is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, Louveral, France, his death certificate confirms him "missing presumed dead".
