Dr Crippen's letters make £11,000 at auction
Letters written by the convicted killer Dr Crippen have sold for £11,000 at auction- far exceeding the £3,000-5,000 estimate put in place by Henry Aldridge and Son auctioneers in the auction took place on Saturday.
Crippen was convicted of posoning and dismembering his wife before attempting to flee to Canada and was executed for his crimes in November of 1910. His final letters, to Lady Henry Somerset were written during his time in prison in the month leading up to his execution.
