Creepy Egyptian animal mummies on display in Liverpool
A museum in Liverpool is about to open a new exhibition featuring a whole bunch of creepy Egyptian animal mummies.
It shows how the ancient Egyptians had animal sacrifice down to a fine art, and how people actually set up businesses breeding animals such as cats, jackals and crocodiles to be offered up to the gods.
Animal Mummies Revealed features a ton of amazing specimens excavated from Egyptian tombs, many of which were brought back to the UK and sold as weird ornaments in the early 20th century. It was a apparently a LOT easier to collect weird stuff back then.
If you want to see a 2000-year-old mummified crocodile, you should probably head to the World Museum in Liverpool, England from October 15.
