Books used in wrongly conviced murder case

Here's a grim little story for you- these books were used in as evidence in the trial of Hawley Crippen, who was found guilty of the murder and dismemberment of his wide, who was found under the floor of their house. Crippen was hanged for his crime in 1910, but in 2010 forensic scientists from the university of Michigan proved that the murderer was not in fact him and an innocent man had been killed for it. Whoops! These books were expected to sell for somewhere in the region of £3,00
