A new app which gives users worldwide exclusive access to the grisly archive of the Anatomical Museum at Edinburgh University has been launched.

The app allows users to virtually tour the museums archive including areas not normally available to the general public granting virtual access to the skeleton of well known body snatcher and murderer William Burke, the death mask of Oliver Cromwell and a room made up of over 1,500 human skulls.

The free app gives a 360 degree view of the rooms and offers the ability to zoom is on specific items to learn about their history and view them in more detail.

It is the first time many of the items will be on public view as the Museum has only granted limited acess to the public since 2012.
