The King Seeley Thermos Brady Bunch lunchbox is a vintage lunchbox based on the popular U.S television show ‘The Brady Bunch’.
The Brady Bunch is an American sitcom which ran for five seasons and 117 episodes from 1969 until 1974. It tells the story of a widowed architect with three sons who marries a woman with three daughters, and the situations that evolve from a blended family.
The series spawned a number of spin-off shows including a variety show, ’The Brady Bunch Variety Hour’ produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, and number of reunion specials and two feature films (which are parodies of the original series). The show has also been period numerous times in various shows and films, and is ingrained in American popular culture.
It has also produced a large range of merchandise, including records, books, dolls and a lunchbox produced by King Seeley Thermos in 1970.
The King Seeley Thermos Brady Bunch lunchbox
The box features a red border and handle, and has graphics on the front, back and sides. The front features an image of Mike and Carol Brady on their wedding day in front of a pink heart backdrop, with the Brady children stood on either side. The reverse shows the children camping (with separate girls and boys tents), as Cindy Brady projects the shadow of a teddy bear on the side of the boys’ tent.
The sides of the box show the boys in their tree house, the girls having a tea party, and the faces of all the characters in close-up. The accompanying thermos flask features the same artwork as the box front cover, and has a pink lid/cup.
