Aladdin Evel Knievel lunchbox
The Aladdin Evel Knievel lunchbox is a vintage lunchbox based on the famous American motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel.
The lunch box was produced by the American company Aladdin Industries in 1974, at the height of Knievel’s fame. That year he had attempted one of his most famous jumps across the Snake River Canyon in Twin Falls, Idaho, using the rocket-powered Skycycle. The attempt ended in failure as the cycle’s parachute deployed soon after take-off, and it landed in the canyon on the river’s edge.
The Aladdin Evel Knievel lunchbox
The metal lunch box has a red handle and rim, with different images of Knievel on the front, back and sides. The front depicts him jumping over a line of parked cars in front of a large cheering crowd, whilst the reverse shows the rocket-powered Skycycle taking off across the Snake River Canyon.
The sides of the box feature images of Knieval riding his motorcycle and his team truck, and the matching white thermos flask has a red cup/lid and shows Knieval performing stunts such as jumping over cars and riding whilst standing on the seat.
How much is an Aladdin Evel Knievel lunchbox worth?
Evel Knieval memorabilia is popular with collectors, and the lunchbox can be highly sought after in good condition. Examples have known to sell at auction for up to $200, and mint-condition boxes complete with their thermos flasks can sell on sites such as eBay for between $75 and $150.
Unused boxes complete with their original store tags have occasionally sold for more than $300.
