A late Victorian vulcanite pendant. up for auction at Fellows. Vulcanite was originally known as Ebonite and it was the first hard rubber obtained by Charles Goodyear by vulcanizing rubber for prolonged periods. It was typically used by Victorians in mourning jewellery. £50-80.
