Rare Australian yellow sapphire consigned to Sothebys auction
A rare 35.73ct Australian yellow sapphire called ‘Willows’ has been consigned to Sotheby’s Australia’s Important Jewels auction.
The sapphire was discovered in 1946 on the Willows field in Central Queensland. It will be the largest sapphire ever offered in an Australian auction and carries an estimate of AU$100,000 to $150,000.
It will be up for auction on the 12th of May.
