Jacobite four peers ring makes £31,500 at auction
A Jacobite four peers ring from 1745 has sold for £31,500 as part of a Jacobite memorabilia sale at Edinburgh based auction house Lyon and Turnbull.
The ring was created in the wake of the Jacobite uprising to commemorate the officers and peers who were exectuted by Hanoverians following defeat at the Battle of Culloden.
The ring is one of only four known to exist and is the only one in private hands.
