That’s how I felt recently when I picked up my latest needlepoint handbag. I have a unique love for all things crafted and have bought many a finished needlepoint handbag on eBay and ETSY. Then I got an urge. I had to make one of my own. I did a random search on eBay for handbag canvases.

I could stitch it. Just fill in the background. And I love red. I loved red poinsettias. And I’d never made a Christmas bag before—SOLD

I took my finished canvas to my local shop to be made into a bag. I knew what size tote and handle length I wanted. The shop ladies are terrific in helping, too.

So what do you think? Like the size? The color? Would you have picked a different background color? Would you make a handbag just for Christmas?

This is amazing! Its the perfect bag for Christmas! I would have gone with black too, it sets off the red of the poinsettias really well. :)

Needlepoint handbags are so timeless. I have a pretty substantial collection and have often wondered about making my own! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi, Lady Travis! The black was the only choice IMHO. Glad you liked it and thank you for commenting.

Hi, Carla Loves Handbags! I love handbags so much. I bought many a one. Since I do needlepoint, I wondered about making one and did. It's pretty, but I didn't like the handle the finisher used and may change it. But I was hooked. When I found the vintage ones, I had to try that too. I have a winter scene one to do and toying with a pretty green back ground. Or maybe navy. LOL. Thank you for post
