The forthcoming Heritage Auctions' Holiday Luxury Accessories Signature Auction will include one of the most sought-after handbags in the world - a Hermes Himalayan Birkin bag.

The 30cm matte white Himalayan Nilo Crocodile Birkin bag with Palladium hardware is regarded as "the pinnacle of Birkin bags", and is expected to sell for more than $80,000 during the auction in Dallas next week.

"Known the world over as a Holy Grail handbag, the Himalayan Birkin certainly makes a statement of opulence, excellence and ultimate luxury," said Diane D'Amato, Director of Luxury Accessories at Heritage Auctions. "Any time one appears on the luxury re-sale market, somewhere there is a collector about to enter a very exclusive club."

Another leading lot will be a Hermes limited edition 5P Bubblegum Pink Swift Leather Idole Kelly Doll bag. Originally designed for the SOGO department store opening in Hong Kong, the bag was produced in small numbers and is one of the rarest designs ever released by the company.

This example, the first to appear on the secondary market in a long time, comes with an estimate of $60,000+.

"This bag is perfect for both the seasoned collector and the collector-in-training," said D'Amato. "This Kelly Doll bag is a fanciful play on the sophistication we know and love from Hermès."

Further Hermes highlights will include a Matte Beton Alligator Birkin bag with Palladium hardware estimated at $40,000+; a 25cm Shiny Blue Marine Nilo Crocodile Sellier Kelly bag with Gold hardware priced at $40,000+; and a Special Order Horseshoe 30cm Rose Confetti, Anemone & Blue Aztec Chevre Leather Birkin bag with Gold hardware, estimated at $20,000+.

Heritage Auctions' Holiday Luxury Accessories Signature Auction takes place in Dallas on December 8.
