Waterford Millenium Flutes
Waterford Millennium flutes are a series of crystal champagne and toasting glasses produced by Waterford Crystal, a leading manufacturer in crystal products. There are five series in total which include "Happiness," "Love," "Health," "Prosperity" and "Peace."
Brief history and description
The company is named after the city of Waterford in Ireland, and is owned by WWRD Holdings Ltd., a group which also owns the Wedgwood and Royal Doulton brands.
An authentic Waterford Millennium flute should feature an acid-etched "Waterford" stamp on its base.
Guide for collectors
Waterford Millennium flutes which are sold as a complete set of 12 along with various other matching items (such as an ice bucket) generally sell for much higher prices at auctions, while flutes which have been chipped or cracked can sell for a fraction of the original cost. Due to the fact that the glasses are incredibly delicate, only a professional should restore any damage. It is also recommended that the flutes are washed and dried by hand.
