Hemingray Online Museum
Hemingray Online Museum is a website dedicated to the Hemingray Glass Company, which operated in the US between 1848 and 1972. Hemingray is best known for its production of glass insulators, which are highly collectible. This website focuses on lesser known items it manufactured, although insulators are also covered.
The site includes a small history, documenting the company from its beginnings to closure.
A page documenting the different types of collectible glass products produced by Hemingray is one of the website’s highlights. It includes many photographs and good information on the different varieties. Glass covered here includes:
• Water Bottles
• Bird Dishes
• Tobacco Jars
• Fruit Jars
• Glass Blocks
• White House Vinegar
There is a page designed to help with the identification of rare Hemingray glass. Here visitors can find advice on spotting bona fide rare Hemingray water bottles, lamps, glass blocks and bottles.
This section also includes a number of pictures of past Hemingray factories and offices as well as a photograph of an original “Salesman Sample” mould.
