This stunning recreation of a Louis XVI style chest is a masterpiece by the celebrated Hippolyte-Edme Pretot, based on Marie Antoinette's, originally designed by Beneman and Stockel. This recreation was made arounc 1875.
Estimated value for the superbly done piece is $70,000-100,000, leaving you to question how much an original would be worth! Pretot won awards for his craftsmanship and it's easy to see why. The piece is expected to sell at auction at A.B. Levy's on the 19th.
