Lot 366: A Fine 19th Century Mahogany and Ormolu Mounted Desk by Henry Dasson, in Louis XVI style: the rectangular top inset with a brown leather writing surface, with three quarter pierced foliate gallery above a central frieze drawer with vine leaf wreath flanked to either side by two further drawers, the angles mounted with drapery on fluted tapering legs and foliate cast sabots, signed and dated, '1883' H 75cm x W 89cm x D 51cm Henry Dasson (1825 - 1896) was one of the most celebrated Parisian bronzier ebenistes. His business was located at 106, rue vieille du Temple, Paris. He specialised in the reproduction of furniture from the reigns of Louis XIV, XV and XVI. He exhibited at the Paris Expositions Universelles in 1878 onwards and secured commissions from the British Royal family
