Lot 5: American made, French and Indian War era flintlock musket, approximately .75 caliber
American made, French and Indian War era flintlock musket, approximately .75 caliber, in the British Long Land Pattern, with a tiger maple stock, a brass buttplate, and a shield-form thumb escutcheon, the trigger guard inscribed T. Lee 1747, 47'' round, smoothbore barrel. This musket has a total length of 62.5". The barrel is pinned and there is an old primitive 2" brass band 6.5" back from the muzzle. Stock has a 4.5" x 3/4" piece missing 7" forward of the barrel plug and has been diagonally cut there. The 2 screw lock is missing the back screw and the lock does not stay cocked. The ramrod appears to be original.
