Rare Pennsylvania state militia contract Derringer rifle, converted to percussion, .54 caliber, the lock and barrel both stamped H Derringer Phila, the left barrel flat stamped CP 55, and CP 55 stamped in the cartouche on the left wrist, 33'' octagonal to round rifled barrel with a bayonet lug. The contract for this rifle was for 200 guns and was shared with Tryon of Philadelphia. The rifle has a walnut stock with no barrel bands and a brass eagle head patch box. There are no sling swivels. The stock shows normal handling marks and the barrel and lock show a brown patina.
