Donnelly Auctions (Iowa Auction House)
Donnelly Auctions is an Auctioneer and Appraisal Service located in Independence, a town in eastern Iowa.
In the last decade the company has specialised in household items, farm machinery, firearms, antiques and farm land auctions. The company also provides full appraisal services, particularly on residential, commercial and agricultural properties.
Emmett Donnelly was born and raised in Iowa and the company’s roots can be traced back to how he embraced his agricultural and bucolic surroundings. His interest in auctioneering begun when, as a child, he spent his Saturday mornings at a local livestock sale barn. These formative experiences encouraged Emmett to enrol at the Reisch Worldwide College of Auctioneering in 1978.
Having graduated in 1981 from the University of Iowa, Donnelly returned to the very same company that had put him on the road to auctioneering and became the operator and general owner of the Independence Livestock Sales Company. During the next twenty years, Donnelly branched out in a variety of industrial sectors and, having established himself in the local auction business, earned his Certified General Real Property Appraiser License from the State of Iowa.
Donnelly has since become a member of both the Iowa Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers Association and has a breadth of experience organising and conducting auctions, not only for local households, but for federal agents, banks, farms, private estates, charitable organisations and state institutions. Donnelly has a dependable and comprehensive background in dealing with the marketing and selling of a wide array of items, ranging from antiques and small collectables, personal property, farm equipment and land, real estate and processing business liquidations. Additionally, Donnelly has been involved with the consultation and appraisal for commercial, residential and agricultural properties for national and local loaning institutions, the private sectors and various government agencies, including the FEMA and USDA.
