Armi Chiappa is an Italian gun manufacturer, located in Azzano Mella, Italy.
It produces replica guns for collectors and gun enthusiasts.
According to its website, Armi Chiappa was founded in 1958 by Ezechiele ‘Oscar’ Chiappa.
Initially, the company manufactured the Armi Sport range of guns for third parties, as well as producing compressed air rifles.
In 1984, the company began producing and marketing historical replicas, with notable success in the American market.
By the 1990s, the company created the Kimar line of blank firing replicas. In 2002, all Italian production was moved to a single, modern building.
According to its website, Armi Chiappa produces its famous Armi Sport range of historical replicas, primarily muzzle loading and breech loading weapons.
Its Kimar line consists of blank and signal weapons, air guns and weapons training systems.
The website states that Armi Chiappa products are “painstaking in every detail”, created through a combination of modern techniques and design, and “craft-made passion”.
The guns produced are designed, by part, using modern CADCAM systems. The designs then proceed to the production phase where machinery, such as specialist lathes and cutters, is used to create the guns.
Armi Chiappa also produces accessories such as sights, scopes, and cleaning equipment.
The Armi Chiappa website contains catalogues for both the Armi Sport and Kimar lines, with pictures, history and measurements.
Armi Sport replicas include American Civil War muskets, Spencer guns, 19th Century lever-action rifles and shotguns, and various other historical firearms.
The Kimar range includes modern replicas of air guns, blank firing revolvers, hunting rifles and pistols.
