Ferrari Unveil 488 GTB
The news of a turbocharged replacement for the much loved 458 Italia has been around for a while now and while it was never off the cards, I don't think anyone was expecting such a radical restyling to come with it. Rather than being the '458T' that most had guessed we now know the new car will be called the 488 GTB.
While it's not a complete departure from the 458 there are a number of noticable styling differences, like thelarge vents by the doors and the two new slats on the bonnet. One thing's for sure, it looks a lot nicer than when the 308 turned into the 328.
Perhaps most importantly the V8 is now accompanied by twin turbos (not unline an F40) and the new car pumps out a claimed 661bhp. The 488 was announced today, 40 years after the introduction of the 308, the first mid-engine V8 Ferrari.
