Did Messi just outbid Ronaldo to buy the world's most expensive car?
Reports are suggesting that the Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo rivalry has just been stepped up a gear-as Messi has apparently outbid Ronaldo to buy 'the world's most expensive car.'
The 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti was sold in Paris for a massive £25 million by Italian billionaire Alessandro Proto’s Proto Organisation who issued a press release claiming that Messi was in fact the buyer, but that Ronaldo had also been keen to own it.
A bidding war allegedly erupted between the footballing rivals for the 1957 Ferrari which was used by Sir Stirling Moss to win the 1958 Cuban Grand Prix.
Messi's aides have denied the claims.
