Lot 628: Dolls. A pair of rare early wax dolls, probably English, 18th century, together two dolls, each with cloth stuffed body and wax head and arms, one a lady wearing a brocade silk gown with metalled trimmings, the other a gentleman in a long green silk waistcoat, matching breeches, and frock coat with cuffs, with metalled trimmings, both heavily worn with some breaks and loss, each mounted on a wooden plinth, height approximately 21cm (8.25ins), together with an ethnic stuffed velveteen doll with wool hair and bone wrist and ankle bangles and earrings (one lacking), worn and threadbare, late 19th century, plus three cross-stitch samplers, dated 1830, 1890, and 1911 (latter two framed and glazed), plus a framed tapestry picture of a boy in a landscape, late 19th century (6)
