Rare 1941 Oor Wullie annual could bring £4,500 at auction
A rare copy of the very first Oor Wullie annual from 1941 is expected to sell for as much as £4,500 when it heads under the hammer next month.
Oor Wullie is a popular and much loved Scottish comic published in The Sunday Post, first appearing on the 8 March 1936, featuring a young mischievous character called Wullie (the Scots nickname for Willie) who hails from the fictional Scottish town of Auchenshoogle.
Original Oor Wullie annuals are highly sought after collectors items and the sale has already garnered much attention. Copies of the annual have been known to sell for just shy of £5,000 in past auctions.
The sale is likely to take place on the 29th of March at Curr and Dewar Auctioneers.
