30th Century Comics is a retailer and specialist in vintage and modern British and American comics and annuals.

The company

The business was formed in 1994 and is based in a shop in Putney, South West London. According to its website, 30th Century Comics’ collection numbers more than 75,000 comic books.

Specialities and stock

30th Century Comics describes itself as “vintage comic specialists” dealing extensively in American and British comics from the 1900's to 1970's, “but we also sell comics from the 1980's right up to the current week's American imports.” It recieves American comics each Wednesday, their day of release in the U.S, and can supply any title distributed by Diamond Comics Distributors.

The shop’s entire catalogue of vintage stock is listed and sold online, and this is updated each week. It features all its stock up to the mid-late 1970s, as well as more modern material reprinting vintage comics and publications about them – numbering roughly hundreds of items.

Mid-late 1970s comics to present: Since 2009, the company has been adding American comics from this era, numbering roughly tens of thousands of more modern American comics. According to its most recent website updates, the company is still listing these.

Books: In February 2010, 30th Century Comics began selling cult and collectible vintage hardback and collectible books.

News and events

As of January 2012, the company is hosting a competition to identify 12 classic comic characters associated with the images displayed in their New Year window. Customers visiting the shote have the chance to win prizes including comic books and graphic novels.
