New Hebrides 1910 set of 7 to 1s, watermark MCA, type 2 (De La Rue) overprint on Fiji, overprint 'SPECIMEN', in horizontal pairs, SG10s/16s.
A fine and fresh mint set with large part original gum. A few minor imperfections as to be expected with a few minor blemishes (shortish perforations, one 2d with small surface abrasion). Overall, a fine quality set with lovely fresh colours.
A rare set of these King George V Specimen stamps as pairs.
"SPECIMEN" examples were used solely by postal administrations for reference purposes to help spot any attempted forgeries.
