Rare haul of 1,000 year old coins found by divers
Scuba divers have discovered a rare haul of 1,000 year old coins on the sea bed off Israel that may shed light on the Muslim ruling in that age.
The coins are inscribed in Arabic and so far around 2,000 have been raised from the depths. They are thought to have come from a shipwreck near the ancient Roman port of Caesarea in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The haul weighed in at just under 6 kilogrammes of gold and has a buillion value of around $210,000.
