11 small size currency collection to auction in Chicago
A museum quality complete denomination set of 11 small size currency carries an estimate of $500,000 ahead of Heritage Auctions’ August 12-17 sale in Chicago.
The lot formerly belonged to assistant of the treasury (under Calvin Coolidge and Henry Hoover) Henry Herrick Bond.
Allen Mincho, director of currency auctions at Heritage, comments: “The 11 face and 11 back specimens are accompanied by a scrapbook of photos, letters, clippings and archival material depicting the career of Mr. Bond.
“Not only is this archive a one-of-a-kind treasure, it’s a valuable look inside the life of the man who undertook a massive challenge and a Treasury career that spanned two presidents.”
