Lot 353: Flagon. A Verwood pottery Owl from Dorset, of ovoid form with shaped handles, 15cm high. Verwood was the main Dorset pottery making area with kilns dating back to the medieval times. The most famous product was the Dorset Owl or Costrel which was used by labourers for taking cider or cold tea into the fields when working. (1)
