1) Bugatti Type 57sc Atlantic - $30 million - $40 million

A Bugatti Type 57sc Atlantic was sold by Gooding & Company in 2010 to an anonymous buyer.

The exact sale price is unknown but is estimated between $30 million and $40 million, making it the most expensive car in the world.

Only four of these models were ever built. One is currently owned by Ralph Lauren and one was owned by the late Dr. Peter Williamson.

2) 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa prototype - $16.39 million

A 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa prototype sold for $16.39m at a Gooding & Company auction in Pebble Beach, US on August 20, 2011, making it the most expensive Ferrari ever sold at auction.

3) Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa - $12.1 million

In 2009 a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa was sold at an RM Auctions event Leggenda e Passione in Maranello, Italy.

Only 22 of these cars were ever built.

4) Ferrari 250 GT SWB - $10.9 million

Radio DJ Chris Evans paid $10.9 million for a Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder at an RM Auctions sale in May 2008.

The model was previous owned by Hollywood actor James Coburn.

5) Bugatti Type 41 Royale Kellner - $9.8 million

A Bugatti Type 41 Royal was sold for $9.8 million by Christie’s in 1987.

Only six of these cars were ever built and only three of those were ever sold.
