Russo and Steele has revealed the full line-up for its hotly-anticipated Monterey sale later this week.

The auction will offer a handpicked roster of historic American muscle cars, hot rods, customs, European sports cars and modern-day hybrid supercars.

Perhaps the sale's standout lot is "the ultimate collectible supercar": a unique 2015 Porsche 918 Weissach, finished in Viper Green and originally owned by legendary racing outfit Team Rahal.

Featuring a 4.6L V-8 Hybrid engine, the 918 offers a top speed of 210 mph, goes from 0-60 in an incredible 2.2 seconds, and is described as an "automotive masterpiece that will only continue its rocket ship appreciation in value into the future".

Leading the line-up of American vehicles is a 2004 Ford GT PB2-1, a rare prototype of the modern classic used for testing and development, described as "a true and extremely exclusive piece of Blue Oval performance history".

Iconic vintage machines will include a "truly exceptional" matching-numbers 1965 Shelby GT350, #1 of 562 first-year GT350s built for 1965 and documented by the Shelby American World Registry; a beautifully-restored 1970 Chevy Corvette ZR1, one of just 25 examples produced for 1970 and recently awarded Bloomington Gold Certification; and a rare, matching numbers 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE Convertible, one of just two known to exist in its Hi-Impact Go Mango over black color combination.

Top exotics from across the Atlantic include a "time capsule" 1993 Jaguar XJ220 with just 541 miles on the clock; a completely original, matching numbers 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet; and a fully restored, "investment grade" 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster.

And as always, no line-up is complete with a selection of prancing horses: a 2007 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, believed to be one of only 20 examples in the U.S; a 1970 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 originally owned by the James Bond series movie producer Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli; and a rare early 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Monospecchio, ready for entry into the world's most prestigious preservation class concours events.

The Russo and Steele Monterey sale takes place at Downtown Monterey’s historic Fisherman’s Wharf on August 18-20.
