Restoring the Mercedes-Benz 300 d
Only approximately 45 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 d cars exist in the world today and this one, owned by the same family since the 1960s, is possibly one of the best-restored models around.
Originally bought as a gift by Robert Eng for his wife Janet in the 1960s the car was put into storage in the 1970s after showing signs of age -where it was to remain untouched and awaiting restoration until recently.
The challenge of restoring the so called “Adenauer Mercedes” was taken up by J.G. Francis who has managed to impeccably restore the vehicle using the same parts it had in 1962.
