Barrett-Jackson is offering movie fans, car collectors, and anyone who grew up playing with the toys a chance to own their very own Transformer.

The company's 45th anniversary sale in Scottsdale, Arizona will feature two screen-used vehicles from the multi-billion-dollar movie franchise – Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

“I’m confident that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be a huge hit in Scottsdale,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “These vehicles are part of a celebrated global phenomenon and have cemented their place in the hearts of fans who watched them in action on the big screen. The two heroes will be an exciting part of any collection for movie fans and car enthusiasts alike.”

For Optimus Prime, the film's production team spent months researching the perfect vehicle to play the iconic leader of the Autobots. When they eventually showed director Michael Bay this 1992 Peterbilt 379 truck and trailer, he loved the dramatic lines and sheer size of the vehicle.

Complete with the Autobot badge on its grill, and the famous flame paintwork, this stunt truck was used during production of the first Transformers live-action movie in 2007 and is offered with No Reserve.

The second vehicle, also offered with No Reserve, is the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS which played fan-favourite Bumblebee in 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction.

This Resto-Mod features custom suspension and an LS3 Corvette engine with overdrive transmission, and is being sold from the personal collection of Muichael bay himself, who kept the car following production.

“The hottest Hollywood stars at Barrett-Jackson come in all shapes and sizes,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We’re excited that Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay have chosen us to sell Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, two of the leading heroes from the Transformers movie franchise. Our Scottsdale auction is always electric and will serve as the ideal venue for these two celebrities seeking new homes.”

The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale sale takes place at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Arizona on January 23-31.
