Ferrari owned by Donald Trump fetches $270,000 in Fort Lauderdale sale
Donald Trump's old Ferrari has sold for a record price during an auction in Fort Lauderdale.
The 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe, which was once part of the President's fleet of cars, hit the block at Auctions America after attracting worldwide attention.
"It’s well known that President Trump appreciates the finer things in life and this Ferrari F430 is no exception," said Auctions America. "At the time of its release, it was one of the most technologically advanced performance cars on the market.
"To see a former or current President’s personal vehicle offered for sale is extremely rare. It’s highly likely Donald Trump is the only United States President to ever own a Supercar."
Beneath the hood, the Ferrari was a packing a powerful 4.3-liter, 490-hp V-8 engine and a six-speed F1 paddle shift transmission, and could hit top speeds of up to almost 200 mph.
The car also came complete with its original title, registered to Trump Tower and bearing Trump's signature.
Standard examples of the F1 Coupe without presidential provenance are usually valued around $125,000 - $175,000, depending on condition, but Trump's former ride came with an estimate of $250,000 - $350,000.
The sale of the Ferrari initially stalled, when it failed to meet its minimum bid of $245,000 and swiftly left the auction block – but minutes later it was snapped up privately behind the scenes for $270,000.
The price was reportedly the highest ever paid for a Ferrari F430 Coupe with an automatic transmission.
