Ferrari 512BB Berlinetta Boxer
The Ferrari 512BB Berlinetta Boxer is a high powered classic car manufactured between 1976 and 1981. The coachwork was designed by Pininfarina.
Just 929 models were made, with only 101 produced with right-hand drive.
The 512BB Berlinetta Boxer is the middle of three types of Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer produced. The first, the 365 GT4 BB, was made between 1973 and 1976. The last was the 512i BB, which was introduced in 1981.
The Ferrari 512BB Berlinetta Boxer came with a 4942cc V12 engine, a compression ratio of 9.2:1 and a dual plate clutch. The car had a slight reduction in power at 340bhp compared to its predecessor but enjoyed a 10% improvement in torque.
In September 2008 a 1978 model sold for £58,700 at a Bonhams auction held at the Goodwood Revival in Sussex.
A 1978 version made £62,800 at a Bonhams event in Paris in February 2011.
A 1978 Ferrari 512BB Berlinetta Boxer appeared in the April 2011 Bonhams catalogue with a high end pre-sale estimate of £110,000.
