Barrett-Jackson sponsors inaugural New England Concours d’Elegance
Following the success of Barrett-Jackson's first Northeast Auction of classic cars at Mohegan Sun in 2016, the company is set to sponsor a brand new concours event in the region.
“It’s going to be an exciting weekend for anyone interested in automotive history, culture and style,” said John Lyons, founder and chairman of the New England Concours d’Elegance, who previously helped establish the Newport Concours d’Elegance.
The New England Concours d’Elegance will present around 100 remarkably preserved and restored classic automobiles from around the world.
In addition to the main show, the three-day event will also include an open event for owners of muscle cars, hot rods and Resto-Mods, and a New England road tour culminating in a private view of vehicles set to cross the block in Barrett-Jackson's second annual Northeast sale.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the preservation of collector cars, as well as benefitting charitable organizations for veterans and children fighting cancer.
The auction will take place the following weekend, and looks set to follow the success of the 2016 event which attracted 90,000 auction guests, more than 1,700 bidders, and achieved total sales of over $26 million.
"It is evident from the unprecedented response to our inaugural Northeast Auction last year that Barrett-Jackson is a perfect fit for the region," said Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO Craig Jackson.
"Serving as the presenting sponsor of the New England Concours d’Elegance is just one more way we can share our passion for the collector car hobby in this part of the country."
The New England Concours d’Elegance takes place in the Turtle Lot at Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Connecticut on June 18.
