Audi Quattros at Bonhams
There are two particularly cool Audi Quattros up for auction in Bonhams' Goodwood sale: a Group B LWB racer and an SWB Quattro Sport, both of which have a high estimate of £280,000 so they question is which would you rather have? On the on hand the A1 Quattro is a genuine factory works car with a proper rally pedigree, on the other hand the SWB Sport is faster, rarer and something you can actually drive on the road.
This is probably one of the few occasions where the standalone road car is about as expensive as its historic racer counterpart, but that's probably helped by low production figures (214 with only about 160 being sold to customers) and that extra bit of grunt that made it so formidable back in the 80s.
The Rally Works Quattro was one of the cars used by Hannu Mikkola in his 1983 World Driver's Championhip win, but more importantly it has rally foglights. And those are cool.
