Auctions America announce new Hilton Head Island sale
Auctions America has announced a new addition to its 2015 calendar, the Hilton Head Island sale in South Carolina.
The auction, featuring approximately 100 classic automobiles, will be held in conjunction with the annual Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival and Concours d’Elegance as we continue to expand our national footprint," said Donnie Gould, president of Auctions America. "The Motoring Festival is a perfect fit with our existing events calendar, both in terms of its timing, as well as its location; Auctions America specializes in hosting events in some of the country’s leading automotive destinations, and Hilton Head Island is certainly a hub for collector car enthusiasts. This new sale will provide an exciting close to our 2015 season.”
The sale will offer a carefully-curated selection of vehicles, from classic American rides to stylish European sports cars, spanning decades of automotive design and engineering.
Notable lots already on the roster include a single-owner 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi with just 3,000 km on the clock, estimated at $375,000-$425,000), and a fully-restored, award-winning 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code valued at $175,000-$225,000.
"Whether you like to watch, bid or buy, there’s nothing quite as thrilling as a live collector car auction and we expect the Auctions America event will be a highlight of this year’s festival,” added Carolyn Vanagel, president of the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival. “With over 20,000 anticipated visitors and an amazing selection of cars guaranteed, we encourage collector car enthusiasts to make their attendance plans as early as possible.”
The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance takes place at the Port Royal Golf Club on October 30-November 1. The Auctions America sale is scheduled for October 31, at the event's host hotel The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa.
