It's no secret that the price of classic cars have shot up tremendously in the last few years, but for me the most painful casualty has been the original Aston Martin V8 Vantages- they used to go for £35k now you might not get much change from £100k. Really a sensible bet could be its successor, the 90s Vantages- they're considerably rarer than the 70s and 80s models, you get better performance and they've aged beautifully. Better still, they're not at all badly priced- this one was an ex-factory demonstrator and can be yours fro less than £40,000. That rivals the price of a new imported Mustang. I know which one I'd have!
