Nikon Fisheye Nikkor lens to star in German sale
A rare Nikon Fisheye Nikkor F5.6 6.2mm SAP lens that can provide a 230 degree view is to cross the block at Westlicht Photographica Auction.
The sale will take place in Koln, Germany on November 21.
Only three were ever produced, making it one of the world’s rarest lenses.
It has the ability to photograph behind itself and was designed as more of a proof of concept than a commercial product with a real world application.
Another specimen sold for in excess of $42,000 at a camera show in Tokyo a few years back.
This example is offered with a valuation of $37,313-47,974.
