Worlds first multi-color book digitized by Cambridge Uni
Cambridge University Library have digitized the worlds very first multicolor book that was so fragile in physical form that it has never physically been opened.
The 'Manual of Calligraphy and Painting' book dates back to the 17th century and is comprised of 138 paintings and sketches by 50 diifferent artists and calligrafers.
It was created BY Ten Bamboo Studio and is the earliest example polychrome xylography, which uses several printing blocks to create the appearance of a watercolour.
The book was one of a number of Chinese works that was added to the digital library.
