WB Yeats' body may not be buried in Drumcliffe
A decades old row over the provenance of WB Yeats’ remains has reopened following the discovery of new documents.
Yeats died in southern France in 1939, but his bones were not repatriated to Ireland until 1948.
There is some doubt as to whether or not the body buried in Drumcliffe graveyard is his. The newly discovered documents appear to cast further doubt on these claims.
