Unpublished poem by Ezra Pound sells for £7,500
A previously unpublished poem written by American poet Ezra pound has sold for £7,500 at auction.
The poem was written in 1909 for the British painter Isabel Codrington(then Isabel Konody) as a pastiche of an Elizabethan sonnet, which Pound claims in an accompanying letter is the ''form alone is the thought governed with sufficient elegance of confection to be in fitting harmony with Mrs Konody, whose abject slave I subscribe my self herewith”.
