I never fail to be amazed when an obviously ancient manuscript of document sells for a fraction of what an item signed by a modern pop star might sell for. Case in point: A vellum land grant, or indenture, parchment dating to 1201 recently sold for the sum of £1,400 at Spink. That means it amassed less than £1 per year in value over its' lifetime. Just seems shockingly cheap.

No logic to it. Especially when you consider that most pop star memorabilia will cease to have any value at all within a short time....
