BAL second issue with title page being a cancel leaf and with copyright dates of 1903 and 1904, but noting that the first issue with integral title leaf and only 1904 in the copyright only located in the author's personal copy, now at the Huntington Library. Binding state B with lettering in white, the first state, in gilt, appearing on only a small number of copies (including one in this sale). Signed by Becky London, the author's daughter, on front free endpaper. Bookplate of Frederick W. Skiff on front pastedown. BAL 11882; Sisson & Martens, p. 19. Light wear to extremities, small gift card affixed to rear endpaper; very good.
