Seeley, Bookseller in Buckingham, 1751, [iv],28pp., engraved dedication, poem leaf 'On Stow' bound after title, ten engraved plates (lacking folding frontispiece), spotting, dust-soiling and few marks, lacking front free endpaper, upper pastedown with manuscript ownership inscriptions including that of 'Chas. Kemp, Evesham, Worcestershire, 1781' with red wax armorial seal beneath and 'E. Cotterell Kemp' and 'Chas. Kemp junr. 1807', hinges cracked, contemporary mottled calf, joints slightly cracked at head & foot, rubbed, slim 8vo. Henrey 1397 & ESTC T14152. Also issued without the plates, as part three of 'Stow: the garden of the Right Honourable the Lord Viscount Cobham'. This work is sometimes attributed to William Gilpin. Charles Kemp (1737-1787) of Evesham, Worcestershire married Elizabeth Cotterell (1737-1811) in 1768 and had a son Charles (b.1769) & daughter Elizabeth (1771-1847). (1)
