Lot 693: Typescript. Jane and the Jam-Pot, Narrated and Illustrated by "Arfurdenman, Arfurdenman", 1915, ff.[v]+28, ten full-page pen, ink, and watercolour drawings, some monogrammd 'AD', one with movable flap, typed text, inscribed to the dedicatee on preliminary blank 'Brown from the perpetrator. 23 April 1915' and beneath in a later hand '(Sir Arthur Denman Q.C.)', marbled endpapers, original half sheep, extremities slightly worn , with 1.5" loss of spine at foot, upper cover gilt lettered, small 4to (13.5 x 12.5cm/5.5 x 5ins), together with Silhouettes. A book of scissor cuts, circa 1870s, twenty-one head and shoulder black paper silhouettes of ladies and gentlemen and two of animals (a Persian cat and a labrador), several of the portraits identified in contemporary manuscript beneath, mounted on thick card leaves (foxed), a number of blank leaves at rear, all edges gilt, original red half morocco, somewhat rubbed and soiled, oblong 8v
