Colton, dated 1854, before the title page, as issued. (12mo) 18x11 cm (7x4?"), original blindstamped blue cloth, spine stamped and lettered in gilt. First Edition. Spine gilt perhaps a bit dull, short stub tear to map; near fine to fine. Important observations of San Francisco and California during the early years of development following the initial rush for gold. Provenance: San Francisco Book Fair 1/81.
