First American Edition.Speke accompanied Sir Richard Burton in his African travels, but fell out with him over the geographical meaning of their discoveries. Condition: Rubbing to covers and edges of cloth, sunning at spine and some fraying at head and heel, hinges cracked; book plate was once affixed to front paste-down page, damp stains throughout at bottom corners of pages; else very good.
